So Long Sweet Summer (Part 3)

This is the last leg of our Dapitan post. Before we went to the airport, we decided to stroll around Rizal Park first since Pat has never been there before. Rizal Park is probably one of my favorite, if not my favorite parks of all time. It's full of trees that's been around probably since Rizal's time. I'm not sure everyone remembers this, but Rizal before being shot to death in Manila, was actually excommunicated and exiled to Dapitan where he met and married Josephine Bracken. Rizal Park is the place where Rizal actually lived during his exile, it has various huts where he had his clinic, house, kitchen etc. and even a pool -it's actually just a big hole where water flows from the mountain but it's very dirty now although my mom said back in the day they still swam there. The Rizalistas, who worship Rizal and believe him to be a divine being are the ones who take care of Rizal Park and they also live, I think, on the mountain beside the park. Come to think of it, I think Rizal Park in Dapitan wouldn't even exist without the help of the Rizalistas, so kudos to them.

In a weird way, I'm welcoming the rainy season with open arms. So long sweet summer! :)

Mini Vacation Part 1

Last weekend, my sisters and I joined our Mom and her bestfriend since forever (BSF?) for a mini-vacation at our province in Dapitan City (Not the street, the one in Zambaonga Del Norte) because my mom wanted to attend her highschool reunion. As soon as we stepped out of the plane, it's like we entered a space time warp where my mom and her bestfriend transported back to high school and kept on whispering and giggling to each other. Adding fuel to the flame, someone made a speech at the reunion and said OVER-HELMING instead of OVERWHELMING which I swear they could not get over for the rest of the trip and just kept cracking up. Meanwhile, me and my sisters stayed at the hotel for some bonding time with our nephews and niece then strolled around the city to take some photos (for the blog of course!) More pics to come!

Hello guys! It's been a long time since I last posted here. Anyway, we went running for errands last Friday. We did some hasty shopping before going to my Mom's province. We watched Pirates of the Carribean and had dinner afterwards with our cousins who came from Australia.

Side note, I'm not really a fan of the Pirates of the Carribean stuff but they did a really great job portraying the mermaids. Teehee.

Went to Greenbelt with our Mom and Pat to buy outfits for an upcoming debut we have to attend. We were quiet early so we decided to take pictures of each other while waiting for the mall to open. I think I will never be comfortable having my outfit photo taken in public (hence the constant at home photos) because I have this awkward smile where I just show my teeth but my face remains, the best adjective would be, indifferent? I have mastered the basic poses though, the cross legged look which my mom says makes you look slimmer or something (see photo above), the look down at my shoes look and smile you're on candid camera look. The rest, I think, I will give to the models. They must really be given more credit for their work. I mean, I already feel weird and I'm fully clothed, I can't imagine being almost naked and being photographed. I think I might have to be extremely drunk to do that. The horror.

I am a late bloomer when it comes to, well, everything. I just realized that harem pants are totally like pajamas except more socially acceptable for everyday use when you're out and about in the real world. And since I am going all out with a lazy outfit, might as well pair it with a loose top and my current favorite flatforms to sort of stop the look from becoming full-on nightwear mode.

And what is up with blogger? I swear they were off for one whole day! So weird right? Oh well, happy weekend everyone!

I'm sorry I seem to be on the same color scheme since my last post, gray and red are my current flavors for the month of May. I'm so happy it finally rained and the cold gusts of wind is making me all excited and giddy because I finally get to wear some of my other "cold" clothes such as this gray sweater which I've posted for a million times already. I can't help it, it's just too comfy. And everytime it rains, I'm like I have to wear my gray sweater! Hahaha.

Anyway, belated Happy Mother's Day to all fashionable mommies out there especially to our one and only Mommy! Hi Ma!

So the heat is getting tortuous by the minute and I've been in a rut finding something decent to wear at the office without dying from heatstroke. I made this outfit a little work appropriate (the office isn't really strict about our outfits) by wearing Nina's cropped top over this spaghetti strapped dress and added a little more color with a blue bracelet from Forever 21. The bracelet is actually new, one of my favorite bracelets gave up on me so I had to find a replacement. Most likely I will be wearing this over and over until it gives up on me too.

I always thought that my hair's talent of growing out real fast is a gift but now that I had it dyed blonde it's become a curse! The roots are showing already. Gaaaah.

Celebrated our Grandmother's Birthday at our Mom's teeny tiny restaurant (opening soon!) in Makati. She's 74 and she loves to go shopping - that's how I know we're, like, really related. Not that I doubted our relation, it's just that she's really white in comparison to our, well, not-so-white skin. Hehehe. And did I mention we have an older brother? Yes, we do! He and his wife have a baby on the way and we're all excited to be Aunts to our soon-to-be nephew! We're already thinking of outfits to buy for him. I'm thinking preppy chic, so cute no?
