The Backpack

Hi guys! It has been awhile, I know. Christmas is very busy in our house (and I assume in everyone else's!) plus I had food poisoning a few days ago (I'm ok now but the stupidity of eating a week old buko tart still lingers on) so I haven't really had to time to check our blog and update. To our new followers, welcome to our little haven!

So anyway this is what my sister Nina wore when we went Christmas shopping. Her peg is "Dora the Explorer" Hahaha! I kid, I kid. The backpack is something she's been lusting on since I think July or August so imagine her delight when she saw it over at Topshop (like Dora singing we did it, we did it, we did it YAY! at the end of the show) and I swear she was almost about to cry.

And this is me in all my food poisoning glory! Yes, I still went Christmas shopping even if I felt sick! And I drove too! I wasn't really the best company though, I was snappy and was basically one of those rude people Christmas shopping. I just felt like I had an excuse to be a grinch, you know? And I really didn't wear those shoes to the mall, I just felt like they'll look better in the picture. :) Btw, this is the last picture you'll probably see me as a blonde because (drumroll please) I changed my hair color again. This time it's just plain old dark mahogany brown something something. More on that story on our next post. Adios, bitchachos!

Yellow and Violet

Photobucket

Bought these new babies from the Forever 21 sale a few weeks ago. I couldn't help it, they were 10% off and I couldn't decide which pair to pick so I took them both home. Thus, a huge dent in my Christmas money and I haven't even come close to finishing shopping for gifts! Gaaah! Anyway, everyone seems to be raving about the BU2 which we didn't get to go since we all had class last Friday and Saturday. :( Hopefully we can be there at the BU3 - i'm praying there'll be another one!

On a totally unrelated note, I'm looking for Labrador puppies to give to my dad for Christmas. Do you guys know anyone who's selling? Help please!!! You can just post a comment or send me an email at pineapplemonsters@yahoo.com. Thanks in advance!

Hello, Pat

Lately, Pat has been so busy with school that we rarely have time for sister-bonding-moments and most of all take pictures of her for our blog. Luckily, we had time to sneak a few photos during our nephew's christening reception over at Greenbelt. Good thing the hallway on the upper floor was deserted and the light was just right for an impromptu photoshoot.

Enjoy the weekend everyone and belated happy thanksgiving! :)

JYJ for Elle Korea

Source : www.jyj3.net

And the Kpop posts begin! These are some of the pictures of JYJ for Elle Korea's December 2011 issue. JYJ is composed of Junsu, Yoochun and Jaejoong (my bias!). They're formerly members of the band TVXQ but has left the band last 2009 (very dramatic). I am not a camping person, the idea of going to a place without indoor plumbing sends shivers down my spine. But if worst comes to worst and I REALLY have to camp, I'd like to take these boys with me plus wear a big furry jacket and rugged boots so we'll all be matchy-matchy and sing songs by the campfire. Of course the probability of that happening is slim to never, especially when I would actually die of a heatstroke if I camped in the Philippines wearing a big furry jacket.

I know Jaejoong said the word "ready" in a funny way, he doesn't know how to speak English. But he's really hot so that kind of sets off things, yes?

Colors and Prints

Nica wearing Zara cape, dress from Hongkong and necklace and shoes from Forever 21.
Nina wearing top from Topshop, skirt, necklace and shoes from Forever 21, cardigan from Zara, satchel from Kate Spade.

Now that I'm looking at the pictures, I realize that my dress is really short. I see London, I see France and I can almost see my underpants. Don't worry, I was actually wearing shorts underneath so the perverts will be pretty disappointed when they see my colorful striped "pambahay" shorts. Hehehe! Anyway, I still can't get over the print on print trend. I feel like there's a lot of prints yet to be discovered that will be great together that I want to try out. And yes, I'm still wearing my ever reliable Zara cape-ish blazer. It's my favorite, I'm sure you can tell by now!

My sister Nina on the other hand is using her new satchel that our mom bought for her. Isn't it the cutest? And the color is perfect too, just in time for Christmas! :)

New Lens

(Denim Vest - Zara, Dress - SM Dept. Store, Necklace - Forever 21, Ring - Asos)

I ordered colored lens (or is it lenses? so confusing!) about a month ago and I did a test shot using my sister Nina as my muse. I know they're not that good, I'm still in the process of figuring out how to hold the lens with my left hand and the DSLR on my right. It's very difficult I tell you especially trying to hold two lens/lenses together. If anyone has some good advice or any tips on using it please let us know! I'll be looking for youtube tutorials as well. You can buy the lens/lenses at http://www.facebook.com/B.Balloons.

How's everybody's week so far? I can't wait for the weekend to arrive, one of my bestfriends is flying home from Australia tomorrow and I am extremely ecstatic to see her since we haven't seen each other for almost two years. If I didn't have class tomorrow, I'd probably be the one at the airport waving crazily and jumping up and down like some mad person. For now, I'll settle for intruding their family dinner with my incessant chatter. Just like old times.

Celebrated the last day of our sembreak by trying out Subspace Coffee House over at Ortigas. It's such an awesome space we can't help but take pictures of everything (thus the photo bombs). If you're into Kpop, this cafe is definitely a must see. You can check out their facebook account here

So how was everyone's long weekend?

How cute is our little pineapple monster? He's almost 4 months old now and I can't believe how fast time flies. I don't want our little nephew to grow up just yet, but of course I can't do that. Sorry for not being present in the "blogging world." I will try to look at your pretty posts soon!

SuperSale Bazaar November 2011

SuperSale Bazaar Holiday Edition – The Mecca of Christmas Shopping

Photobucket

The holiday season is the most wonderful time of the year - creating your wish list, finding the perfect presents for your family and friends, attending many festive gatherings and parties. All these activities about Christmas can be fun, but the thought of dealing with massive crowds, insane price tags, and chaotic stores is enough to give anyone anxiety. Luckily, The SuperSale Team is bringing their only Holiday Bazaar earlier than everyone else to avoid the insane holiday traffic. This one stop shop is where you can find the newest fall pieces and only the BEST gift items for this merry season. The 11th SuperSale Bazaar is one of the trusted weekend shopping events in the metro especially when it comes to the latest trends. It is a premiere shopping destination for buying top luxury fashion, young designer labels and online brands at up to 90% off retail prices.

The SuperSale Bazaar is once again giving you a little head start on all of must-have items to transition ever so gracefully and to avoid the hassle of driving out to get presents. Everything you need is under one roof as The Team is holding the bazaar at the World Trade Center- the Mecca of Christmas shopping. This season, it will definitely be bigger and better with a variety of shops to choose from. The directory includes women’s fashion, children’s toys, sporting goods, home fixtures, and the list goes on. We’ve also brought in the best brands for drool-worthy gift items.

You get to be the first to shop your favorite labels and at a very low price -- brands like Moonshine, Celline, Glitterati, Style Break, Co Exist, Fancy Flats, Tonic, Vida Jewelries, Tocande, MADE Jeans, I Love Koi, all of which, plus many more, will be selling their new collections as well as their previous pieces on sale only for the 3-day weekend. In addition to amazing clothing and accessory options, The SuperSale Bazaar offers an incredible selection of gift items, Christmas decors and must-eat pastries. Best of all, entry into this event is free if you avail your ticket at www.dealdozen.com or bring your old SuperSale Pink Bag. So what are you waiting for? Go on a shopping spree this November 4-6, 2011, Friday to Sunday, 10am-9pm, at The World Trade Center and get the chance to win raffle prizes every hour.

Blog Award

Photobucket
Photobucket
Photobucket
(Cover up - Zara, Dress - www.prelovedparfait.multiply.com)

First of all, I’d like to say thank you to those who have tagged me in their blog awards.  I’ve actually done a blogger award only once and that was way back in chictopia and honestly I’m actually not much of random-musings-about- myself type.  I mean, I used to like it before but now I sort of feel shy about sharing inane things about myself which is ironic considering the idea of blogging about your clothes. So anyway, I’ll limit this post to myself as I am not sure what my sisters would want  to share.

1.    I have no twitter. Although my friends and sisters ALWAYS convince me to get one, I find it a bit superfluous. I do read peoples tweets, especially the celebrities that I like (LOL). The downside is I don’t get to join giveaways since you’re supposed to  follow or retweet the giveaway.  L
2.   Me and my sisters can actually understand Bisaya and I can speak a little bit as well. Both our parents are Bisaya so it’s kind of a requisite at home.
3.    As much as I love travelling, I have a bit of motion sickness. When I was a kid I used to throw up all the time but now mostly I just feel dizzy.  I drink Bonamine during long car rides (no joy rides for me) or plane rides. And don’t even get me started with rollercoasters...
4.    The infamous Sophie’s mom, known for its mochi ice cream and red velvet cupcakes is actually in the same apartment as where I work (if you’ve been there it’s the office above Tita Tim’s cafe on the other end of Sophie’s Mom). I used to get trinkets there everyday until I got sick (true story!) for eating too much sweets. My throat started to ache and then I eventually had a fever. Story of my life. If you pass by there and you see a blonde girl walking around, don’t forget to holla!
5.    My friends don’t know that I blog. I treat this blog as my own personal haven where I get to be somebody else in other people’s eyes. Crazy right?
6.   I have really bad skin. You probably don’t see it in the pictures because I edit it out. Oh, the magic of photoshop. I used to have cystic acne up until three or four years ago then I took this medicine my derma prescribed which subdued my acne. I do have acne scars until now that’s why I don’t post close-up shots. I’m supposed to have it lasered but I’m too chicken.
7.   To end on a lighter note, I’ll share a strength of mine. Hahaha! I’m a really good driver/parker. I know most people say that, but my parents are EXTREMELY proud of my parking capabilities that they share it to everyone.  I can park in reverse in one swift motion. Girl power to the nth level. LOL!!!

So that’s it. Wow, it’s longer than I anticipated.  I think I might have overshared.

Finding Humor

Photobucket
(Blazer, top and shoes - Zara, Jeans - Forever 21, Bag - Asian Vogue)

Had lunch with my mom at Resorts World. You know what's funny? We ate at the same restaurant where I used to complain of their horrible service and after a year, well, their service is still really bad. Apparently they're very consistent. Why we ate there again, I have no idea. Anyway, moving on. I wore this to work and to accompany my mom to the doctor. While waiting for the doctor, I was reading a magazine and there's this article that says, "If you want to wear comfortable clothes, then just stay home." Inspiring, yes? :)

Sister bonding time discussing all things Kpop or mostly on which idols we want to see together. Changtoria FTW! I know not everyone is into Kpop - I think it's more of an "acquired taste." I used to hate Kpop too but my sisters converted me so now I'm officially riding the hallyu wave. :) So I say - don't judge it until you've tried it! I'm thinking I'll post some awesome Kpop pictures here so you guys will be converted as well. Let the domination begin!

Playing Tourists

This is actually a backlog post, I think we took these photos around 2 weeks ago when there was a Metrobank sale at Mckinley Hill. It was actually me and Pat's first time to go there so we wanted to pretend like we're tourists (well come to think of it, we WERE tourists) and had our mom take pictures of us. I know what you're thinking, why is it that we've never been to Mckinley! Well, we're south people. lol. I even asked where the gondolas were but apparently it hasn't been built yet. That's our mom in the last picture. :)

Anyway, sorry if i've been MIA for I think a week or more? We all had our exams plus I had work blah blah blah. Do you ever get the feeling that you don't get to live anymore because you're stuck in front of your computer watching other people live their lives? I feel that sometimes. Mostly I reflect on the concept of work and how I can get away from it but still get money. I need a vacation!
